Hello 2021 & Goodbye 2020

Dear Cresthill Families and Friends:

What a year 2020 turned out to be.

Feels like a lifetime ago when we closed our doors to help flatten the curve against COVID19 in mid-March. What we all thought would be a few weeks turned into months of unprecedented challenges for our center, staff, families and country. Nonetheless, our Cresthill community persevered and saw 4 out of our 5 centers reopen their doors in June, 2020.

As we put 2020 behind us, we do want to reflect on the good and the joy despite the darkness.

  • We are grateful for the support of our families and friends as they ordered Curriculum Kits, Meal Kits and provided us kind donations during the times in which we were shut down.

  • We are grateful to our staff who worked through the pandemic at our East Hanover location, providing childcare to frontline heroes during the height of the pandemic.

  • We are grateful to the families who chose to return to us and entrusted the care of their little ones upon reopening.

  • We are grateful to our staff and teaching teams who chose to return to our classrooms, helping fill the rooms and halls with sounds of laughter and song.

  • We are proud to be the leader of exceptional childcare as we retrofitted our HVAC with extensive UV air purification and sanitation technology, introduced clean room mats in our centers and designed our own cleaning & sanitizing checklist beyond industry standards.

  • We are proud to be one of the few childcare centers that chose not to charge tuition during our shutdown and offered free remote learning to both Cresthill and non-Cresthill families.

  • We are proud to have weathered the height of the pandemic and being able to reopen 4 out of our 5 locations and we are proud to have made it pass to see our 10-year founding anniversary on 11/11/2020 despite insurmountable financial odds.

As we look to brighter days ahead in 2021, we wish you and your loved ones happiness, peace and health in this New Year. We look forward to being able to hug again; to being able to have family reunions and celebrations; to being able to be there for our friends and families for birthdays, marriages, births and more.

It is befitting that on 12:01 AM on January 1, hindsight will actually be 2020 for the first time ever in history; may we part ways with 2020 having grown more resilient, sympathetic, appreciative and become kinder, wiser and empathetic in 2021.

From our family to yours, we wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and joyous New Year.

With love,

Christina Dorando
